Understanding the stock market won't be one of the easiest tasks that you'll ever take on but once mastered, this trade will prove very profitable.

Below I will list a couple of resources and tips for a better understanding of the stock market:

1. Fine Print - Warning!

The newest trend in the world of stock trading is hidden costs. Always read the TOS (Terms of Service) and be sure that they aren't charging a hidden fee that could take you by surprise. We have easily seen this happen to a 1000+ people this month alone so please be careful.

2. Join a Reputable Online Newsletter

Joining a newsletter that offers news, events and alerts about the stock market is always highly advisable. An excellent free newsletter is currently being offered over at OTC Stockportal and can be subscribed to by CLICKING HERE

3. Forums

Forums are a valuable source of information and should not be underestimated. A simple search on Google for "Stock Trading Forums" would already reveal hundreds of quality forums with some excellent discussions. Have a question or something that you can't figure out on your own? Head over to the forum and create a new topic with your question.

4. Broker Shopping

When looking for a broker, you'll be confronted with hundreds of low quality brokers that would most probably just throw your money down the drain. Be sure to have a look at their portfolio and carefully review their results and statistics. Questions about a specific broker can also be asked on forums.

5. Overnight millionaire dream

Stock trading becomes a profession over time and a common misconception is made concerning profits. You'll have to gain experience through trail and error first before expecting to yield a decent profit. Having unachievable expectations in you're first year will only hurt your trading strategies and will most probably ruin your budget so take it easy!
